Did some more work on the Officer’s Lounge re-drawing this evening and last. I have pretty much completed the details of the starboard-side planter area. This is a reinterpretation of the way the plants, the soil and even the 23rd century koi fish (yes there are fish in the original blueprint drawing) as well as other decorative garden area elements are drawn.
Over the weekend I did a little more digital re-drawing of the Enterprise Officer’s Lounge blueprint. In doing so I have found that some of the hand written dimensions do not match what is drawn. In several instances some of the stated dimensions are simply “wrong” for the dimension of the element as drawn in the scale of the drawing itself.
I finally unpacked the original movie “blueprint” production drawings I won at auction back at the end of April and began photographing them. These were construction plans produced for both Star Trek: The Motion Picture (ST:TMP) and Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (ST:TWK) from which the live-action sets where constructed from. In addition there were two drawings produced by Robert Abel & Associates, for Magicam to work from in order to build the original U.S.S. Enterprise filming model.
While still trying to recuperate from a case of viral bronchitis, I did manage to do some more work this evening on the side-view Starfleet human form factor illustrations.
Started back in on some digital illustration work I had begun as part of working on both the Enterprise cross-section studies and for the workbee schematics, before the opportunity to interview Richard Taylor came up. And that was working up new and improved human figures to use to establish ergonomic and scale/clearances in future schematics and illustrations.
